What's reading for me...
Reading is more than decode a set of signs, it's to understand what the author wants to impart you. Reading is an activity that must be done carefully, because every sentence has an internal meaning and an especific purpose. You have to know that the author doesn't write just for fun, he has a goal and it could be to persuade the reader or to give him a new point of view.

  2. I think that a person can write just for fun, but when that fun becomes a natural need; it's just in that moment when writing makes sense.

  3. Good, that's a reading strategy for understanding but maybe you had to take un account other things that can influence how you understand what you read.

  4. You can write for fun, but it has an internal meaning, for example if you write a story, a journal, or a comment...you want to comunicate something or express your feelings and your point of view. That will have always an intention!!!

  5. well... i think it is a strong position what u are trying to express but it has some truth in deep... it is important to realize that words are kind of a "weapon", we have to be very carefully when we use then, wheter we are writting them or reading them...

  8. Hi Monica
You thought in an very important aspect which most of people don't realized, the hidden sense and the author intention. Because we know that in discourse there are ways to convince people and maybe when we listen somebody's discourse, this person persuade us without we know

  9. I like your point of view because when you say that "every sentence has an internal meaning and an especific purpose". is truth, because all the authors have an intention, in spite of it was an informative content.

  10. The author concpt is very important, but don't you think that every person could get differents conclusions that the author never imagine?

  11. Yes I think that the reader can create his own conclusion, but also the writer build a text with an intention, so we must think in that too.
